The Monterey can be built with one of three unique exteriors:
Romantic and rustic, this version of the Monterey has all the charm of a country home you’d find surrounded by the rolling vineyards of California wine country. Its bright stucco is complemented by an abundance of stacked stone, dark wood doors, and handcrafted shutters. Dormers in the sloping roof and exposed brackets under the eaves lend even more character.
Reminiscent of a wine country farmhouse, there are many artisanal elements at play in this model. Decorative masonry over the entryway is inspired by the beam work found in a traditional California farmhouse. Subtle greens and browns, as well as stone accents, blend beautifully with natural surroundings and lush landscaping. Lantern-style lights and decorative, rustic louvers add character to the entry and carriage house garage door. Large, paned windows overlook the spacious, columned front porch, which is adjacent to the nearby side porch. As the perfect finishing touch, a copper chimney cap can be added.
The Monterey C is modern and sophisticated with forward facing gables and warm colored stucco with decorative inserts. The grand entryway commands attention with its low-sloping roof line and large multipaned windows, including a tall window that rises dramatically above the double French doors. The flat, clean lines of a minimalist-style awning provide shelter without blocking the view and add to the facade’s boldness. And, under a tall chimney, stately columns surround the side patio that is covered by a beautiful, rounded roof.
